Dear JCLC Community,
The JCLC Board of Directors, in deep consultation with the JCLC Steering Committee, has made the decision to cancel the 2022 JCLC Conference in Saint Pete Beach, FL due to Hurricane Ian that hit the region earlier this week. While the decision was a difficult one, it was made with the best interests of our attendees and the surrounding communities in mind. Many factors were considered based on input from attendees, presenters, exhibitors, and NALCo leaders. Additionally, there is a current State of Emergency Executive Order for Florida which allowed us to terminate our contract with TradeWinds. As a result of these discussions, we determined that we would be unable to guarantee the safety of attendees and a quality conference experience that aligns with the JCLC Mission.
At this time, we are assessing the impact of this cancellation and will be in touch with additional information about refund options. We are considering our options for rescheduling the conference in 2023. While we are very disappointed that we will miss being in-person with you, we look forward to connecting as we determine the best path forward.
Please keep the people of Florida in your hearts and thoughts at this time. We have all seen the devastating damage that has resulted from Hurricane Ian. If you would like to donate, please consider this List of Organizations to Benefit Florida and Cuba.
On behalf of the JCLC Board of Directors and Steering Committee, thank you for your support.
If you have additional questions, please reach out to conference@jclcinc.org.
Sincerely,
Ken Yamashita President, JCLC, Inc.
Alexandra Rivera Vice-President, JCLC, Inc.
