Applications are now open for scholarships to attend JCLC 2026!
Applicants must meet at least one of the following:
- Be an undergraduate student working in a library
- Be a graduate/library school student.
- Be an ALA member
- Be a first-time JCLC attendee
Recipients will be required to:
- Attend JCLC 2026 in full
- Attend the scholarship reception on October 8th
- Stay in designated conference hotels
- Submit receipts for travel reimbursement
- Submit a brief post-conference reflection (500 words) describing the impact of their participation.
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Relevance of personal and professional goals to JCLC’s mission.
- Potential impact of conference participation on the applicant’s studies, career, or community engagement
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing access in libraries or related fields.
- Clarity and quality of written responses.
JCLC 2026 will cover registration and lodging costs directly, and reimburse scholarship recipients for travel and meal expenses. The number of scholarships (and partial scholarships) will be dependent on the availability of funds.
Preference will be given to applicants who are members of one or more of the National Associations of Librarians of Color (NALCo).
All applicants must complete an online application that includes contact information, scholarship need, and two short essays on their personal and professional statements.
Applications are due February 1, 2026.
Recipients will be notified by late spring 2026.
