(JCLC Inc.), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, serves as the fiscal agent and resource advisory supporter of the Conference.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>JCLC brings together a diverse group of librarians, library staff, library supporters, and community participants to explore issues of diversity in libraries and how they affect the communities of color that use our services.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>JCLC is a unique and unparalleled opportunity for participants to share successes, opportunities, and challenges while networking and attending programs on pressing issues affecting both librarians and communities of color.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>JCLC strives to deepen connections across constituencies, create spaces for dialogue, promote the telling and celebrating of one\u2019s stories, and encourage the transformation of libraries into more democratic and diverse organizations.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The conference includes speakers, skills-building workshops, research-based panels, networking opportunities, and exhibits. In addition, JCLC deepens connections across constituencies and beyond, and unifies and strengthens the voices of each association.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>JCLC 2026 in Spokane, Washington follows the first gathering in&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/aboutala\/offices\/diversity\/jclc\/jclc2006\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2006 in Dallas, Texas<\/a>, the second in&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/jclc-conference.org\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2012 in Kansas City, Missouri<\/a>, the third in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jclcinc.org\/conference\/2018\/\">2018 in Albuquerque, New Mexico<\/a>, and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jclcinc.org\/conference\/2022\/\" target=\"_blank\">fourth<\/a>&nbsp;in 2023 (rescheduled from the original dates dates\u2013October 5-9, 2022\u2013due to the effects of Hurricane Ian in Florida) in St. Peach Beach, Florida.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading --><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Joint Conference of Librarians of Color is a conference for everyone!
