Purpose

The purpose of the JCLC Conference Attendance Awards is to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, and to provide networking opportunities for JCLC attendees within the profession.

Selection Criteria

Candidates must apply online and submit a 500 word essay illustrating their qualifications for this award by responding to these two prompts: 1) What you feel you will gain personally from attending 2022 JCLC, and 2) How you believe attending 2022 JCLC will impact your professional aspirations? Selection is based on the quality and appropriateness of the submitted essays. Economic need is considered when all other criteria are equal.

Each NALCo will have five designated awards for their members:

  • Two student awards
  • One early-career award (5 years or less)
  • One mid-career award (5-10 years)
  • One library staff/paraprofessional award

Seven recipients will be awarded the 2022 EBSCO JCLC Conference Attendance Award.

Nine recipients will be awarded the 2022 Latanya Jenkins Memorial JCLC Conference Attendance Award.
